Everything You Need To Know About “APEGS”

Image
The term, APEGS stands for Associations of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan is a work experience report that includes ‘34 elements’. Below mentioned are some of the most important elements, that you will find in APEGS : ●      Five competency elements of financial and project management. ●      Ten elements of technical competence. ●      Two elements of team success. ●      Six elements of personal accountabilities. ●      Three elements of transmission. ●      Three elements of continuous professional development. ●      Three elements of economic, environmental, social. ●      Five elements of sustainability.   APEGS allows training engineers to apply for a course in Canada. The association has set criteria that are needed to be sustained from the engineering competency-based assessment writing system. It further ensures that the assessments mainly help to fulfill the requirement of public interest. All the procedures of the registration will be organized,

The Role of Validators in APEGS Competency-Based Assessment

Image
One of the four APEGS strategic targets outlined in the 2019-2021 Strategic Plan is to make an online competency-based assessment system available to individuals seeking engineering licenses. Engineers Canada is sponsoring and providing in-kind support for a pan-Canadian system that can evaluate engineering experience in order to achieve this goal. It is said to be a more transparent, consistent, and efficient way of determining a candidate's engineering readiness. In this post, we shall discuss the role of validators in Online Competency-Based Assessment and how it helps applicants in the process. Let's get started...  What is Competency-Based Assessment? Competency-based assessment is a method of determining an applicant's suitability for registration by confirming and assessing their competence to do basic engineering activities in a safe and reliable manner. Instead of asking applicants to explain their experiences, as many assessment systems do now, competency

Guidelines For Professional Engineers Ontario

PEO was established on 14th June back in 1922. It is the regulating and licensing body for professional engineering in the province that governs over 85,000 license and certificate holders. PEO regulates professional engineering in Ontario to protect the public interest.   PEO or Professional Engineers Ontario are appointed for setting the criteria for admission. They standardize the practice of engineering in the province. PEO is an authorized body that ensures every aspect linked to public safety and welfare. Moreover, Professional Engineers Ontario offers leadership to the engineering profession in the country. This authority encourages the contribution of professional engineers along with their service in the application of science and technology. Thus, they ensure the benefits of mankind.   According to the Professional Engineers Act, the practice of professional engineering means any act of designing, planning, composing, evaluating, reporting, directing, and advising. Engineers Australia Competency Report: Stage 1

Image
A number of organizations and employers in Australia prefer hiring engineers who are members of Engineers Australia. However, in order to join Engineers, individuals need to pass the Stage 1 Engineers Australia Competencies . According to the Engineering Regulations of 2015, the Stage 1 competency report must include sixteen vital areas. Engineers must demonstrate what is known as CDR Australia migration assistance in the application for Engineers Australia's Stage 1 Competency Assessment. They need to present appropriate samples to qualify for the membership. The aspects define the profession's acceptance of knowledge and skill-based engineering application aptitudes, specialized talents, standards, and techniques that professional engineers should demonstrate. The most straightforward way to show Stage 1 capability is to complete an engineering certification recognized by Engineers Australia. A Stage 1 Competency Assessment determines whether you are eligible for the member

Everything You Should Know About Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE)

Well, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, or IMechE can be summarized as an independent professional association as well as a learned society situated in London, United Kingdom. It is the representation of mechanical engineers and the engineering profession. According to the reports, almost 120,000 members in 140 countries, are working across industries such as railways, construction, automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, and more in the Institution is licensed by the Engineering Council to assess candidates.  IMechE During The Pandemic   Standing in the situation where the world is doing through the deadly pandemic caused due to COVID-19 viruses, they started a course that was attended by over 60 people and covered topics such as the latest best practice concerning infection control science. It also involved the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, including environmental factors, effect of vaccination, current best practice, influence of human behavioral characteristics, eng

Tips to Find Job As An Immigrant in Canada

Image
We all know that the requirement for experience in a Canadian environment is evaluated using Canadian environment competencies such as the P.Eng. Competence Assessment. Previously, Canadian environmental experience was required to be demonstrated through a time-based requirement (i.e., at least 12 months in a Canadian environment). An applicant using the Competency Assessment System must choose one example from his or her work history that best demonstrates an appropriate level of exposure to a specific key competency. These examples will necessitate validation from individuals with direct, first-hand knowledge of the work performed (typically a supervisor and/or colleague). Once all examples have been validated, the assessment stage begins, with association assessors reviewing all of the competency examples and validator comments. Besides P.Eng. Competence Assessmen t , the next step is finding a job that matches your skills and interests to make Canada your home. So, in this post,

What is Interim Registration?

Image
Interim Registration is the process that allows an engineer to illustrate the fulfillment of the primary criteria in terms of required skills, knowledge, and understanding to become a skilled engineer in the UK. Individuals who are planning to apply for Incorporated Engineer, Chartered Engineer or engineering Technician in the UK has to fulfill two points as led by the Engineering Council:   Illustrate the foundation of technical knowledge, skill, and understanding. They are required to apply their technical knowledge, skill, and understanding at the workplace based on the national standard of commitment and competence. Interim Registration works as proof that the applicant has illustrated the basic and primary criteria that show the acquisition of required knowledge, skill, and understanding by the applicant to become a skilled engineer. It guarantees that fact that you, as an applicant has successfully met all the educational requirements as set by the Engine

What are your options if you don't want to be an APEGS Licensee?

Everything You Need To Know About Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) – APEGS

Competencies are measurable and observable skills, knowledge, abilities, motivations, or traits required for professional registration and demonstrated by the applicant's actions and behaviors.   Before being granted a license, an engineering candidate must demonstrate the ability to practice engineering. The applicants must provide evidence based on their experiences of their reasoning aptitude to exercise engineering at a proficient level.   Many engineering regulators in Canada have chosen CBA for engineering analysis. British Columbia engineers and geoscientists are involved in the development of the CBA for the benefit of the applicants. Engineering regulators carried out a multi-year Pan-Canadian CBA project in various provinces.   This system, which was developed on January 1, 2019, was validated by the APEGS membership at the Annual Meeting in May 2018.    It is applicable to all APEGS applicants who are nationally and internationally graduated engineers-in-trainin
